A Power Take-Off shaft (PTO shaft) is an essential mechanical apparatus used to transmit power from a tractor or other power source to an attached implement, such as a mower, tiller, or baler. Coupling a driveline to a PTO should be efficient and straightforward because tractors typically operate multiple implements. Therefore, yokes on the tractor-end of the driveline are equipped with a quick-disconnect system, such as a push-pin or ball collar.<\/p>\n
Specifications for a driveline, including the method of coupling to a PTO, depend on the implement. Yokes on the implement side are rarely disconnected and may be secured with quick-lock couplings like push-pins or ball collars. Taper pins, known for their stability, are commonly used in yokes and torque limiters. These pins are also often employed to connect internal drive shafts on drivelines that are not frequently disconnected.<\/p>\n
Torque limiters and clutches must always be installed on the implement side of the primary driveline.<\/p>\n
